Barbaricum seeks an Artificial Intelligence Strategist to provide support to the next iteration of a fast-paced and dynamic program supporting the U.S. military 4 star-led, joint command United States Forces Korea (USFK) in South Korea.This leader will Develop and implement strategies for integrating AI technologies and capabilities within USFK's operations to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and decision-making processes.Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage AI technology initiatives, including planning, execution, resource allocation, risk assessment, and timeline management.
  • Evaluate and assess the feasibility and suitability of AI technologies and solutions for USFK, considering factors such as performance, security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, external organizations, research institutions, and industry partners to leverage their expertise and resources in advancing AI capabilities.
  • Ensure AI initiatives comply with applicable regulations, policies, and ethical guidelines.
  • Develop and enforce guidelines for data privacy, security, and responsible AI use.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of AI professionals, providing guidance, performance feedback, and training opportunities to support their career development and optimize their contributions.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and innovative approaches to enhance USFK's mission.
  • Effectively communicate AI-related initiatives, progress, and outcomes to senior leadership, stakeholders, and other relevant parties through reports, presentations, and briefings.
Qualifications
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required (TS and above desired)
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, artificial intelligence, engineering, or a related discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience in AI technology management, including project management, strategic planning, and team leadership.
  • Experience in a military or defense-related environment is beneficial but not mandatory; working experience at USFK or other 4-star joint headquarters is desired
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree or higher in a relevant field
  • In-depth knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and related algorithms
  • Familiarity with AI frameworks, tools, and platforms such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or OpenAI
  • Familiarity with military operations, defense systems, and an understanding of the specific needs and challenges faced by military organizations
  • Knowledge of the USFK's mission and operations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address AI-related issues, evaluate AI solutions, and make data-driven decisions
  • Proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, and visualization
  • Familiarity with ethical considerations, legal regulations, and responsible AI practices
  • Knowledge of data privacy, security, and compliance requirements related to AI implementation
