Job Description

Faithlife is looking for a Korean Editor with experience and knowledge of the Korean speaking Christian World to join their growing Korean products team. This individual will help the team build, market, and promote their Korean offerings.

As the Korean Editor you will work with the team on product and publication related projects, as well as offer localization support and promote the product at conferences.

You are fluent in Korean and have a firm understanding of specialized religious terminology and cultural nuances. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and don’t mind when projects are pivoted. You are independent, goal-driven, have an entrepreneurial drive, and love interacting with people.

Requirements

Major Responsibilities:

  • Perform English to Korean translations for various projects related to Logos Korean Bible Software.
  • Plan and execute short/long-term contents creation projects based on demands and budget
  • Manage creation, editing, proofreading and organization of resource and Mobile Ed. translation
  • Train and manage translators and proofreaders.
  • Review and and evaluate translated works on various projects
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining high standards of quality control and sticking to the production schedules.

Candidate Specifications:

  • Is fluent in both Korean and English
  • Takes ownership of projects and gets things done quickly and effectively
  • Is familiar with and connected within the Korean Christian world
  • Understands the nuances of regional differences within the Korean Christian world
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Has industry experience as editor in Christian publishing
  • Has a degree in Biblical or theological studies or similar

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of three-year work experience as editor in Christian Publishing
  • Uses, or has previously used, a Bible software product
  • Takes ownership of projects and gets things done quickly and effectively
  • Can be flexible and work under pressure
  • Has a Master’s or higher degree in Biblical studies
