Beyond providing seed capital, 500 supports startups via their Seed Accelerator Programs which emphasize digital marketing, customer acquisition, lean startup practices, and fundraising for pre-Seed companies. 500 Startups further contributes to the development of innovation ecosystems by supporting startups and investors through educational programs, events, conferences, and partnerships with corporations and governments around the world.
What You Will Be Doing
500 leverages an extensive network of experienced entrepreneurs and startup founders, as well as corporate executives and facilitators, who have experience blending the startup and corporate worlds together to help corporations navigate the ambiguous space that is innovation. As a Subject Matter (Growth) Lead (SML), you will support the development and continuous improvement of our Intrapreneurship offering.
- Work with 500’s Corporate Growth Practice and Project Directors to develop a consistent Point-of-View on a program sequence that meets the innovation objectives of corporates participating in 500’s Intrapreneurship service offering.
- Concept, design, test, review, and finalize the Intrapreneurship program curriculum and program design.
- Bring deep contextual knowledge (of the culture, corporate environment) to bear in the design and refinement of the Intrapreneurship program.
- Deliver the program in its first and second stage iterations and identify continuous improvements to the program, in consultation with Practice and Project Directors.
- Identify the appropriate profile of participants for the program and assessment criteria and processes needed to vet applicants.
- Define critical foundational concepts for the Intrapreneurship program, as well as advanced track concepts.
- Produce thought literature and relevant intellectual capital on the outputs and outcomes of the Intrapreneurship program, and their impact to the corporate innovation agenda.
- Develop a certification course for other interested Intrapreneurship SMLs and manage their training and development.
Requirements
- 8+ years in product, engineering, marketing, or business/data analytics. Those with experience as Lead, Sr Dir, VP, or C level experience in a startup environment for a Series B to Unicorn+ startup will be considered.
- Worked in or consulted for a Fortune 1000 company in the past 10 years, with at least 2 years of tenure.
- Ability to communicate complex topics in simple ways using stories, analogies, and examples.
- Experience presenting, facilitating, or teaching groups of professionals (formally or informally).
- Positive and engaging energy to everything you do.
- A desire to connect and build relationships with experienced practitioners in the 500 network.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable and compelling in public speaking situations.
- A deep passion and curiosity for defining and spreading the best practices of the frontier of corporate innovation and growth strategy.
