PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Insights Manager is a new role within the Passport Syndicated Research team, reporting to the Head of Vertical/Industry Research and working especially closely with Global Leads and Industry Managers. The role meets the growing demand for client service from Passport industry and sector experts.

The Insights Manager is a client facing research role where more than half of time is spent engaged in or preparing for client facing activity. The Insight Manager focuses on a sector of industries and its client base rather than specializing in, or taking product ownership of, a single industry. The client base should be targeted based on both geography and through expertise by Passport sector.

Based in Asia, the individual is expected to engage with Health and Beauty clients in Asia Pacific, to build and strengthen the relationship through expert engagements, data validation exercises or consulting support with the aim of meeting commercial needs. There is heightened focus of this position on Beauty and Personal Care, whilst balancing the commercial support for the region in Consumer Health, especially on the fast-changing lifestyle categories such as VDS, weight management and sports nutrition. On the one hand, the Insights Manager will be our global Health and Beauty expert for key clients in Asia Pacific, on the other hand, s/he is expected to provide insights about Health and Beauty trends in Asia to our global clients. The role’s responsibilities also include leveraging on and thus, promoting latest Strategic Themes such as, for example, ‘Value Creation’ in thought leadership engagements and through own content creation.

An individual contributor, proficient in thought leadership, client engagement and the ability to promote their content to external audiences will fit well with this role.

Key responsibilities:

The Insights Manager is tasked with developing expert content in written form and for presenting and delivering that content through client engaged services. Responsibilities can be described as 50% content and 50% client as follows:

Content

  • Create market insights from global data for own content and in the work of others, employing the knowledge of the research network, Passport data, and Analytics. Create content by not just collating information but rather using Passport data and information as the basis of opinionated, forward-looking, compelling insight meant to build value for client in their Passport subscriptions and services.
  • Deliver high quality, expert strategic content, with both global scope and regional expertise, actionable for an engaged client base both local to a region and global.
  • Build content demonstrating subject and geographic expertise, purposefully targeted to commercial and editorial needs and to the maximum research/commercial returns.
  • Support and drive global Strategic Themes and content initiatives.
  • To do the same for the work of others through leading, co-authoring, and editing.
  • Minimum content metrics, three strategic pieces plus at least one piece of templatised content per year

Research

  • Deliver high quality global and regional research on select industries in the form of strategic content and briefings and in global and regional support of targeted Passport industry systems.
  • Demonstrate abilities in working with industry published statistics and Euromonitor's analytical tools (where available) to enhance research inputs from the Passport research organisation.
  • Proactively build the knowledge base through access of internal research, external publications and through interactions with client facing teams and clients/industry bodies.
  • Build client research partnerships to the benefit of the wider research organization including through initiatives such as Structured Client Engagement. Seek the development of virtuous circle relationships through all industry interactions.
  • Promote and maintain a research agenda around all activities/engagements and build knowledge as part of a continuous wheel of dialogue with the industry.
  • Collaborate with Global Leads, Industry Managers, Project Managers, and the research network to strengthen research results using all inputs including client information.

  • Identify/target focus client accounts based on commercial need, evolving with business needs and priorities.
