Lead Engineer

As a Backend Technical Lead, you will be responsible for driving the technical vision and architecture of our analytics platform. Working at the intersection between the rapidly developing domains of IIoT and Machine Learning, you will face a wide array of exciting challenges as you help us to push the boundaries of innovation. You will play a key role in defining and delivering infrastructure to manage data from all types of machinery and apply state of the art analytics at scale. You will join our team in Munich.

Requirements

Your responsibilities include:

• Work on your own and with the team to deliver high quality, scalable, maintainable software.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence and initiative through a combination of experience, best practices and facilitation.
• Enable the team to make decisions and leverage everyone's strengths.
• Focuse on growing functional competencies, identifying key areas for future development and research.
• Write and care about high-quality software and take pride in your work.
• Lead by example when it comes to best practices (i.e. TDD, Code Quality) and drive them in the team.
• Work in a product-oriented way: ship early, iterate with feedback, work with our product team.
• Actively participate in and/or organize workshops and other technical integration efforts to align work across teams.
• Native or fluent in Korean
• Comfortable with spoken and written English

Your skills:

• 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience
• Experience with Java / Python
• Strong understanding of design patterns, best practices, software architecture, software evolution. Confident in microservices design.
• Experience in architecting backend applications
• Experience with working in an agile environment
• Empathetic and a good communicator
• Good motivator and organizer
• Cooperative (in contrast to competitive)

Bonus:

• 2+ years of experience as a lead
• Hands-on experience with Azure platform
• Hands-on experience with message brokers e.g. RabbitMQ / Kafka
• Hands-on experience with relational database management e.g. Postgres
• Hands-on experience with designing processing and storage systems at scale
