Job Description

The Role:

Charlotte Tilbury understands the power of makeup like no-one else. With over 25 years at the forefront of the makeup industry working with the world’s A-list models, celebrities and designers, Charlotte has poured her best-kept secrets into an edited but ‘all you need’ skincare, make-up and fragrance collection.

This new Korea specialised role, within the pivotal Product Development department, will be responsible for managing and developing regionally tailored and inspired product innovation for the CT range, as well as delivering strategic regional product market research back to the global teams.

The candidate will be accountable for full cross-functional CPA management of regionally specific NPD launches, from leading and collaborating on conceptualisation through to production completion, working closely with internal global teams and external suppliers.

This role will need expert knowledge on the Korea + APAC amp; China beauty consumer and industry, looking at cultural news, new launches, social media, trends, retail, tech, treatments, cosmetic procedures, supplier/ingredient innovation etc. It will also analyse CT and Korea + APAC amp; China beauty industry sales data. Regular presentations back to senior global team members in an informative, visual, and inspiring presentation style, would be a key task.

Charlotte Tilbury skincare + specific colour cosmetics will be primary categories of focus for the Senior Product Development Manager, thereforestrong experience in premium and/or niche skincare and colour product development (for Korea + APAC amp; China markets) is essential to the role.

This role will evolve alongside a growing specialised team in APAC, as well as working closely day to day (virtually) with London’s NPD, Packaging, Regulatory, Marketing and Supply Chain teams, ensuring that all key teams and individuals are engaged and fully up to date on the vision, requirements and running of the regionally focused projects.

The ideal candidate needs to be confident and adaptable to changeable working environments and priorities e.g. evolving Korea + APAC amp; China NPD strategies, or being based in Korea but remaining part of the London NPD team.

It is essential to the role to have a collaborative candidate that works at pace, has strong communication and presentation skills, and holds specialised skills in Korea + APAC amp; China focused beauty project management and market research.

They must have at least 7 years’ previous experience within a comparable role.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assuming the role of a specialised, expert Sr. Product Development Manager responsible for in region or specific strategic NPD developments, as well as capturing Korea + APAC amp; China market innovation and trends to translate back to London NPD team
  • Market Research: Researching and presenting reports from on the ground immersion in APAC amp; China beauty consumer behaviour amp; industry insights. e.g. cultural news, new launches, social media, trends, retail, tech, treatments, cosmetic procedures, supplier/ingredient innovation
    Analysing CT amp; industry colour amp; skincare sales data
  • Innovation: Researching and presenting strategic blue-sky product/ideas amp; ingredients inspired by Korea + APAC amp; China market amp; trend research to Senior team members, in an informative, visual amp; inspiring presentation style
  • Strategy: Supporting the NPD team with leading strategic proposals in the conceptualisation amp; development of skincare amp; colour NPDdriven by Korea + APAC amp; China market intel
  • NPD: Accountability of full or key milestones in specialised NPD projects amp; CPAs collaborating cross-functionally in region and with London Head Office teams
    • Regional NPD amp; calendar ideation/building support
    • Coordination amp; tracking testing of supplier samples amp; NPD submissions within the team (+ external testing where required) - collating valuable feedback amp; direction
    • Considering amp; supporting on claims testing procedures amp; protocols in region
    • Maintaining amp; building strategic in-region supplier relationships
    • NPD development costs amp; COG management
    • Negotiation with suppliers on all aspects of projects
    • Korea + potential APAC amp; China supplier factory visits / production engagement
