Job Description

Beam is Asia Pacific’s largest shared micromobility company, on a mission to turn little drives into better rides and make cities flow better for everyone.

Shared micromobility is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world, and we’re leading the way in Asia Pacific with operations in Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Thailand and Malaysia. In collaboration with cities, we bring a safe, affordable and sustainable new mode of transport to citizens with our fleets of self-driven small electric vehicles. Following our recent US $93M Series B round, we will be expanding our operations to Turkey, Japan and Indonesia.

We have gathered a team with a passion for innovation and technology. We tackle growing challenges every day as a group of problem solvers, determined to make a positive impact on people’s lives and the future of the planet.

This is just the beginning. Come join us on the journey.

You will be part of the cross-functional Corporate Development team responsible for all fund raising (debt and equity) and Mamp;A activities of the group. This team works closely with our business units and other functions to ensure that Beam’s commercial interests and risks are managed and mitigated appropriately as the Company scales.

You will have exposure and responsibilities over the full spectrum of Corporate Development projects, ranging from debt and equity fundraising to Mamp;A (both originating as well as executing). You will work closely with senior leaders and be provided with plenty of autonomy to utilise your expertise and skill set to really make a difference and drive positive impact. There will be exposure to a fast growth startup with a regional footprint and the career trajectory opportunity to match.

In addition to this, there will be ad-hoc projects where you will need to utilise your strong technical skills and commercial acumen to develop creative solutions to challenges facing the business.

  • Working in conjunction with the Head of Corporate Development, involvement and ownership in relation to the full-cycle of corporate development activities. Including identification and engagement of lenders/investors/targets, industry analysis, due diligence, financial assessments, funding strategy, business case development, negotiation and execution of transactions
  • Undertake detailed financial analysis and financial modeling of various activities across the business; including growth, cash flow and financial projections and market sizing opportunities
  • Preparing investment decision papers for Management and Board approvals.
  • Collaboration with cross functional subject matter experts, such as Legal and Finance.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience in either investment banking (debt or Mamp;A advisory), private equity, strategy consulting, Big 4 Accounting (Mamp;A or transaction services), or in-house corporate development in a fast-paced organisation
  • Exceptional numerical and analytical skills with proven financial modeling experience.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, in both English and Korean
  • Strong planning, organisational, analytical and decision-making skills, with sound business acumen and proactivity
  • A tertiary degree in a business / finance related field, post graduate qualifications are desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build strong relationships to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Resilient and self-managing with the ability to work autonomously to reliably deliver on tight deadlines.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to make an impact to the world by transforming urban transportation.
  • Be part of a hyper-growth organization with plenty of opportunities to springboard your career.
  • Flexible and autonomous working environment with highly motivated and competent colleagues.
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
